You are SO Loved
"God loves you."
I've heard this said to me by strangers, I've seen it on bumper stickers and have even said it to others. This common yet powerful phrase began to lose its sparkle for me. I knew God loved me and I knew He loved others but hearing it constantly had de-sensitized me from the depth of its meaning.
Recently, however, I began to understand and comprehend God's love on a deeper level. Nothing dramatic happened, I didn't seek the true meaning of God's love but I knew something felt different. A quiet yet confident awareness of God's unique love specifically for me. I suppose God knew that I needed to experience His love in a different way. I can't really describe it but the words "God loves you" sat with me differently. I was beginning to understand His agape, unconditional love. And you know what, God loves you too.
When we decide to do what we want, even though we know we shouldn't. God loves us.
When we forget or just don't want to spend time with Him. God loves us.
When we treat others less than what we would want to be treated. God loves us.
Bottom line no matter what we do or don't do God loves us. His love is constant and never-ending. The concept of God's unconditional, you don't have to earn it, love for us can be challenging to understand and fully accept because we see love the way the world often shows it. The love we may experience from others can be conditional and given only when we behave in ways that satisfy or make others happy. But God's love is unconditional and incomparable. Sure, there are consequences to our actions when we go against God but even the consequence and correction are from a place of His love for us. (Hebrews 12:5-6)
This is no groundbreaking discovery or revelation but something that has always been and will always be. God Loves You.
